The Pumas rugby club have their first home Turkish league game of the season on Saturday 13th December 2008

Playing at the Alsancak Stadium against Bakırköy from Istanbul, the kick off is scheduled for 2.30pm. The game will be attended by various officials including Şahin Kömürcü, President of the Turkish Federation, Sümer Aygın, mayor of Girne and Savaş Orakcıoğlu from the District Office (Kaymakam). The Minister of Youth and Sport, Özkan Yorganıoğlu and Alsancak Beledşye Başkan Dr Yücel Atakara have also been invited.

The gates open at 2pm and the match will commence after a rendition of World In Union sung by Anna MacArthur. The game mascots will be Ozan Karaca and Luke Hijazi from the Pumas Academy.

The new Pumas rugby club annual social membership will be launched at the game. For a mere 50YTL, members will receive free entry to all this season’s games, plus 10 per cent discount off Pumas merchandise and social events.

The Pumas have also negotiated 10 per cent discounts from a number of outlets, which members will receive on production of their membership card. So far interested participants of the scheme include Mannipeni Restaurant, the Old Mill restaurant, Marshalls DIY, Ego Bar, China Garden, Al Shaheen and Scuba Cyprus with many others still under discussion.
